Indian actor Mushtaq Khan, known for his role in Stree 2, was abducted and tortured in Meerut, just weeks after comedian Sunil Pal faced a similar ordeal.
Khan, 50, was invited to an award show on November 20 but was kidnapped upon arriving in Delhi. Held captive for nearly 12 hours near Bijnor, his captors demanded ₹1 crore ($120,000) in ransom and took over $2,400 from his and his son’s accounts.

Khan managed to escape during the morning azaan and sought help from locals. His business partner, Shivam Yadav, confirmed filing an FIR with evidence including flight tickets, bank records, and CCTV footage.
Authorities suspect a larger syndicate targeting celebrities and are investigating. Khan is recovering and expected to address the media soon.
