Pakistani actress Mahira Khan recently opened up about the emotional toll caused by the 2017 viral photos of her with Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor. The pictures, showing them smoking in New York, led to widespread controversy, severely impacting her personal and professional life.

Speaking to BBC Asian Network, Mahira recalled fearing for her career after harsh backlash and rumors of a romantic link with Ranbir. “I thought, ‘Is my career over?’ It was overwhelming; I couldn’t get out of bed for days,” she shared.
Despite the challenges, Mahira credited her resilience and the support from her fans and brands for helping her bounce back. “All the brands stood by me,” she said, reflecting on her journey of growth and triumph amid public scrutiny.
