At least four people were killed and nine others injured in separate road accidents on the Indus Highway and M-9 motorway in Sindh on Tuesday, as speeding and hazardous road conditions continued to plague the province’s highways.
The deadliest incident occurred on the Manjhand section of the Indus Highway near Jamshoro, where a passenger coach collided with a car. The impact claimed the lives of three individuals on the spot and left four others injured. Local police attributed the accident to overspeeding, a recurring issue on this stretch of the highway, which has been the site of multiple fatal accidents in recent months. The victims were identified as Shaukat, Aziz, and Aidan, while the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical care.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine whether driver negligence or poor road conditions contributed to the crash.
Meanwhile, on the M-9 motorway near Karachi, two separate accidents occurred due to excessive moisture in the air, creating slippery road conditions. In the first accident near Gadap City, three heavy trailers collided, killing a man named Liaqat and injuring three others. Shortly after, a second accident near Jokhio Mor resulted in two cars colliding, leaving two people injured.
Both accidents caused temporary traffic disruptions as rescue teams worked to clear the wreckage and transport the injured to nearby hospitals. Motorway police urged drivers to remain cautious, especially in conditions where fog or moisture can make roads slippery and reduce visibility.
Authorities are investigating all three accidents to assess the causes and determine whether further safety measures are needed to prevent future incidents.
