Kurram District Demolishes Bunkers Amid Peace Talks and Rising Tensions

Authorities in Kurram district have demolished four more bunkers as part of their efforts to enforce a local peace agreement between rival factions. The latest demolitions, carried out in Balish Khel and Anarkali using explosives, bring the total number of dismantled bunkers to 26, with operations continuing. These measures are part of the ongoing implementation of the Kohat peace accord aimed at stabilizing the region.

The district administration has pledged to continue with peacekeeping actions, including the introduction of escorted convoys to ensure public safety. Meanwhile, rival factions are set to hold a second round of talks in Peshawar following earlier discussions in Islamabad. These talks will focus on further peace negotiations and confidence-building measures, addressing issues such as security and the misuse of social media.
