Government Reduces Prices of Petroleum Products and LPG

The government announced a reduction in the prices of petroleum products for the next 15 days, while the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) also slashed the rate of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for March, according to separate notifications.

The Finance Division revealed that high-speed diesel (HSD) saw a significant cut of Rs5.31 per litre, while motor spirit (petrol) was reduced by Rs0.50 per litre. Additionally, kerosene oil and light diesel oil (LDO) prices were lowered by Rs3.53 and Rs2.47 per litre, respectively. The new prices will remain in effect until February 15.

Ogra also announced a reduction in LPG prices by Rs6.15 per kilogramme. The revised price for an 11 kg domestic-use LPG cylinder is now Rs2,924.31, a drop from the previous Rs2,996.88.

These price adjustments are in response to fluctuations in the international oil market and are expected to bring some relief to consumers, particularly those relying on LPG for cooking and other energy needs.
