Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai has climbed to the top of the ICC Men’s ODI all-rounder rankings following a remarkable performance in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. The 24-year-old overtook teammate Mohammad Nabi, who now sits in second place. Omarzai’s career-best rating of 296 points came after standout performances, including a maiden five-wicket haul against England and a crucial half-century against Australia.
India’s Axar Patel also made notable progress, moving up 17 spots to 13th with a career-best rating of 194 points.

Shubman Gill Holds No.1 ODI Batting Ranking
India’s Shubman Gill remains the top-ranked ODI batter, with Virat Kohli moving up to fourth after his Player of the Match performance in the semi-final against Australia. Pakistan’s Babar Azam continues to hold the No. 2 spot in the rankings.
Omarzai’s strong batting displays have also seen him rise 12 spots to 24th in the ODI batting rankings, while his teammate Ibrahim Zadran surged into the top 10 after his 177-run knock against England.
Australia’s Steve Smith rose to 16th, and New Zealand’s Kane Williamson moved up eight spots to 29th.
Matt Henry Breaks into Top 3 in Bowling Rankings
New Zealand’s Matt Henry has entered the top three of the ICC ODI bowling rankings, behind Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana and South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj. India’s Mohammed Shami climbed to 11th place after a series of strong performances in the Champions Trophy.
South Africa’s Marco Jansen and England’s Jofra Archer also saw gains, moving up to 18th and joint-19th, respectively. Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi retains his No. 9 spot among ODI bowlers.
