Peshawar Cracks Down on Cheating Ahead of Matric Exams

In a firm move to ensure transparency during matriculation exams, the Peshawar district administration launched a crackdown on stationery and photocopy shops across the city, including Hashtnagri and Warsak Road. The operation, conducted on Monday, comes as exams begin today.

Authorities confiscated over 1,000 pocket guides commonly used for cheating. Several shopkeepers were arrested for distributing illegal materials, and multiple shops were sealed. The administration also ordered the temporary closure of all photocopy shops near examination centers to prevent misuse.

Other photocopy shops across Peshawar have been strictly warned against producing “micro photocopy” or any other material that could aid students in cheating.

Deputy Commissioner Sarmad Saleem Akram said the integrity of the education system must be protected. “A student’s real strength is their hard work,” he stated. “Cheating undermines not just education but the entire fabric of society.”
