Excise Officials Gunned Down in Nowshera Ambush

Three excise department officials lost their lives in a deadly armed attack on GT Road near Taro Pabbi in Nowshera early Sunday morning. The incident occurred around 2:00 AM when unknown assailants opened fire on a mobile squad vehicle.

According to police sources, two officials died on the spot, while the third succumbed to injuries during treatment. The attackers fled immediately after the assault, prompting authorities to launch a full-scale investigation into the tragic incident.

A case has been registered against unidentified individuals, and efforts are underway to gather evidence and record statements from potential witnesses. The motive behind the attack remains unclear as law enforcement agencies continue their probe.

Funeral prayers for the slain officials were held at Police Line Peshawar, where a police contingent presented a guard of honor. Senior officials from both the police and excise departments, along with colleagues and community members, attended the solemn ceremony to pay tribute to the fallen officers.
