PCB Nears Decision on New Head Coach as Hesson Tops Shortlist

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is in the final stages of selecting a new head coach for the national team, with an official announcement expected shortly after May 4. Sources indicate that New Zealand’s Mike Hesson has emerged as a leading candidate for the position.

Hesson, who currently coaches Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League, is reportedly being considered for a specialized role to lead Pakistan’s white-ball squads. His experience in T20 and ODI formats is believed to align with the PCB’s strategic vision ahead of the international season.

Squad discussions are also underway, with potential returns for players like Sahibzada Farhan, Hussain Talat, Hasan Ali, Faheem Ashraf, and Ali Raza being considered for selection.
