Pakistan Shuts Down Airspace Amid Heightened India Tensions

In response to escalating tensions with India, Pakistan has officially closed its airspace to all flights, both domestic and international, until 12 PM on May 11, 2025, as a precautionary measure to ensure safety.

The decision follows Pakistan’s forceful military retaliation under “Operation Bunyaan ul Marsoos” (Iron Wall), a campaign that emphasizes national solidarity and the country’s firm resolve to defend its sovereignty. As part of the operation, several strategic Indian military installations have reportedly been hit and neutralized.

According to state-run media, Pakistan successfully destroyed a BrahMos missile storage facility in the Beas region and carried out precision strikes on Indian airbases in Udhampur and Pathankot. The operation came in direct retaliation after India attempted to strike three key airbases inside Pakistan.

Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), confirmed during a press briefing that Indian forces launched air-to-ground missiles targeting the Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi, Murid Airbase in Chakwal, and the Shorkot base.

However, he assured the public that all Pakistan Air Force assets remained unharmed, crediting divine protection. He also noted that Indian missiles and drones were fired into Afghan territory, and issued a stern warning, stating: “Now, wait for our response.”
