The anticipated communication between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of Pakistan and India has been postponed, according to a report on Monday. Originally scheduled for earlier in the day, the crucial military-to-military contact is now expected to take place later this evening, though no official reason has been given for the delay.
This interaction, part of the ceasefire understanding between the two nations, was set to involve Pakistan Army DGMO and Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai of the Indian Army. The dialogue follows a recent announcement by US President Donald Trump, signaling an end to heightened border tensions, and comes on the heels of Indian Prime Minister Modi chairing a high-level meeting ahead of the truce talks.

Pakistan’s Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations, Major General Ahmed Sharif, had recently reaffirmed the country’s commitment to maintaining open communication channels with India. He emphasized that DGMO-level talks are a routine practice aimed at preserving stability along the Line of Control and preventing unnecessary escalation.
With a fragile ceasefire still holding as of Monday noon, military hotlines between the two countries have been reactivated to manage any future incidents. The international community remains watchful, urging both sides to pursue restraint and dialogue to avoid reigniting conflict.
