Both parties have committed to taking the following actions by May 14, 2025:
- The United States will modify the additional tariffs imposed on Chinese goods by suspending 24 percentage points of those tariffs for an initial period of 90 days, while maintaining a 10% tariff on certain articles. The United States will also remove certain additional tariffs imposed under previous orders.
- China will similarly suspend 24 percentage points of its tariffs on U.S. goods for 90 days, while retaining a 10% tariff on certain products. China will also lift non-tariff countermeasures imposed against the U.S. since April 2, 2025.
Following these actions, both countries will establish a platform for continued discussions on economic and trade relations, with representatives from both sides engaging in talks, which may take place in China, the U.S., or a third country by mutual agreement. Working-level consultations will be held as needed to address specific issues.
