On the second anniversary of the arrest of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman, party workers staged a protest outside the Peshawar Press Club. The demonstration drew several prominent leaders, including MNA Shandana Gulzar, former Deputy Speaker Mahmood Jan, and Faisal Javed, among others, who voiced strong criticism of what they termed as unjust persecution.
Speakers at the protest condemned the ongoing detention of the PTI founder, asserting that he remains imprisoned despite being granted bail and facing baseless charges. They also decried the arrest of his wife, Bushra Bibi, suggesting that authorities are using her detention to apply further pressure. Protesters expressed concern that both are being denied the right to meet each other, despite court rulings allowing such visits.

The participants criticized the government for trying to suppress the PTI leader’s influence, arguing that he remains among Pakistan’s most popular political figures. They suggested that his presence outside prison would have bolstered Pakistan’s stance against recent Indian aggression.
Protesters also expressed their support for Pakistan’s armed forces, applauding their strong response to Indian hostilities and reaffirming their commitment to national solidarity.
