Pakistan’s auto sector saw a 5% dip in car sales month-on-month in April 2025, but still posted a modest 1% rise year-on-year, according to data from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA). A total of 10,596 passenger vehicles were sold during the month.
The monthly decline was largely blamed on highway closures in Sindh that disrupted vehicle deliveries. However, analysts say the slight annual increase points to easing inflation, lower interest rates, and improving consumer sentiment.

During the first 10 months of FY25, car sales rose 40% to 111,464 units, compared to 79,596 units in the same period last year. Demand was also boosted by new model launches and upgraded variants.
Among automakers, Sazgar Engineering (SAZEW) saw a steep 42% monthly fall but achieved a 130% annual rise thanks to its popular Haval series. Pak Suzuki’s sales declined 12% from March and 33% from last year. Meanwhile, Honda Atlas grew 20% month-on-month and 70% year-on-year, and Indus Motor Company posted steady gains.
The motorcycle and rickshaw segment remained a bright spot, up 26% year-on-year and 6% from March, while truck and bus sales surged 127% annually. Tractor sales, however, dropped sharply amid weak agricultural demand.
