Elon Musk has publicly acknowledged responsibility for a major outage that left his social media platform X offline for nearly two hours on Saturday, citing failures in the platform’s redundancy systems and pledging immediate operational fixes.
In a post on X, Musk admitted the disruption revealed “major operational shortcomings” and promised to personally focus on the platform, along with Tesla, xAI, and the upcoming SpaceX Starship launch. “I’ll be working 24/7 — sleeping in conference rooms, server rooms, factory floors — whatever it takes,” he wrote.

The outage adds pressure on Musk as he juggles leadership roles across multiple high-stakes ventures. His recent efforts to overhaul the U.S. government workforce through the controversial Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) have sparked backlash, reportedly prompting him to scale back involvement in that area.
With Tesla shares dipping and a crucial Starship launch approaching, Musk’s attention is now sharply refocused on stabilizing his core tech enterprises. Saturday’s disruption serves as a stark reminder of the challenges involved in managing sprawling, high-impact companies simultaneously.
