Apple Makes Bold Gaming Leap With New All-In-One App

Apple

Apple is gearing up to unveil a dedicated gaming app at WWDC 2025, marking its biggest push yet into the gaming industry. Set to run from June 9–13, the conference will highlight the new app designed to unify gaming across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV—effectively replacing the long-standing Game Center.

This new hub will offer users a central location to launch games, view leaderboards, track achievements, and access editorial content. Features like a “Play Now” tab, Apple Arcade highlights, and seamless links to the App Store’s gaming section aim to boost user engagement.

Notably, the app will come pre-installed with iOS 19 this September. Apple is also integrating FaceTime and iMessage for in-game social interactions, while introducing App Clip support to allow users to demo mini-games without full downloads. Mac users will even get support to run games downloaded outside the App Store—a significant shift for the ecosystem.

In a major content move, Apple has acquired RAC7 Games, the studio behind the Apple Arcade hit Sneaky Sasquatch. While continuing to operate independently, RAC7 is expected to fuel Apple’s ambition to offer exclusive, high-quality gaming content similar to its Apple TV+ strategy.

As Apple shifts from being a gaming platform to a serious content provider, this new gaming app may finally help the tech giant gain more credibility in a market where Macs have long struggled to compete with PCs.
