Saudi Arabia Condemns Israeli Strikes on Iran, Urges Regional Restraint

Saudi Arabia has sharply criticized Israel for its recent airstrikes on Tehran, which resulted in the deaths of several top Iranian military officials and nuclear scientists. Riyadh described the strikes as a “blatant breach” of international law and a serious threat to regional peace and stability.

In a statement issued by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Kingdom condemned the Israeli offensive against Iran, calling it a direct violation of Iranian sovereignty and a dangerous act that undermines regional security. The statement emphasized the need for immediate international intervention.

“The United Nations Security Council and the global community must act swiftly to stop this aggression,” the Saudi statement said.

This condemnation follows deadly Israeli air raids in Tehran that led to the deaths of key figures including Major General Mohammad Bagheri, IRGC Chief Hossein Salami, and nuclear scientists Dr. Mohammad Mahdi Tehranchi and Dr. Fereydoon Abbasi.

While U.S. President Donald Trump acknowledged prior knowledge of the operation, he denied any U.S. involvement. However, Iranian officials claim that the scale and precision of the attack suggest coordination with Washington, and they hold the U.S. partially responsible for backing Israel.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry, citing the UN Charter, asserted that it has the legal right to retaliate and warned that Israel and its allies would bear the consequences of the escalation.

As regional tensions mount, Trump stated that U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) is on high alert, reinforcing America’s commitment to Israel’s defense.

Saudi Arabia’s strong response marks a significant moment in Middle Eastern diplomacy, especially given its recent efforts to mediate between Iran and Israel through behind-the-scenes negotiations aimed at calming regional frictions.
