Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned what he termed an “unprovoked attack” by Israel on Iran, labeling it a reckless move that could dangerously escalate tensions in the Middle East. His remarks came in response to Israeli airstrikes that reportedly targeted key military and nuclear sites in Tehran and other Iranian cities.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), the prime minister expressed profound concern over the loss of life and extended heartfelt sympathies to the Iranian people. “I condemn, in the strongest possible terms, today’s unprovoked attack on Iran by Israel,” he stated, adding that the loss of lives was deeply saddening.

Reports indicate that the strikes resulted in the deaths of several top Iranian officials, including Chief of Staff Major General Mohammad Bagheri and prominent nuclear physicist Fereydoon Abbasi. The attacks have been widely seen as a major escalation in regional hostilities.
Prime Minister Shehbaz urged the international community and the United Nations to act swiftly to prevent further escalation. He cautioned that continued aggression could push the region toward wider conflict, jeopardising both regional and global peace.
