PESHAWAR, August 23, 2026: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has confirmed the date for the long march.
He said the Long march will take place on September 27. He also ruled out any change to the announced date.
Speaking in Buner, Afridi said he would personally lead the march. He said millions of people would be taken to Islamabad.
The chief minister also instructed party workers to begin preparations. He expressed confidence that the participants would return successful after the march.
KP CM Criticises Treatment of Imran Khan
During his address, Sohail Afridi also discussed PTI founder Imran Khan. He claimed Khan was not taken to Shifa International Hospital.
Afridi said this happened despite a decision by the Supreme Court. He criticised the authorities over what he described as non-compliance.
The chief minister made the remarks while addressing participants of the Street Movement. The event was held at Abu Bakr Siddiq Chowk in Hangu.
He claimed the government had ignored the court’s decision concerning Imran Khan. Afridi also criticised those he said considered themselves above the Constitution.
He questioned why court orders were not being implemented equally. He compared the situation with orders issued against powerful individuals.
According to Afridi, some institutional orders are implemented within hours. He said court orders concerning Imran Khan had not received similar treatment.
Afridi Calls for Equal Application of Law
The KP chief minister argued that the law should apply equally to everyone. He said powerful individuals should also face accountability.
Afridi said weaker prisoners should not remain behind bars if powerful people escape punishment. He stressed that the country cannot have separate laws.
He linked Imran Khan’s political struggle with the demand for equal justice. He said the goal was to establish the same law for everyone.
The chief minister also raised concerns about the country’s economic situation. He said farmers and industrialists are facing difficulties.
He urged people to consider the direction in which the country is moving. His remarks came as preparations for the Long march are expected to begin.
Afridi maintained that September 27 remains the final date. He said there would be no change in the schedule.
