Mohammad Yousuf Resigns From NCA Role

Former Pakistan captain and legendary batter Mohammad Yousuf has stepped down from his coaching role at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), ending his latest stint with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). His resignation, submitted earlier this week, was attributed to personal commitments.

Yousuf, 50, had recently served as the batting coach during Pakistan’s tour of New Zealand but was notably missing from the coaching setup for the home series against Bangladesh. His absence now appears to have been a prelude to his formal exit from the PCB’s coaching framework.

Appointed as NCA batting coach to groom emerging batting talent, Yousuf brought a wealth of experience and technical mastery to a developing generation of cricketers. His role was seen as vital for Pakistan’s long-term batting stability, and his mentorship was valued both at the academy and during occasional engagements with the senior team.

Though the PCB has yet to issue an official statement, sources describe the parting as amicable, with a possible return not ruled out. Yousuf’s departure is expected to trigger adjustments within the NCA’s coaching structure as Pakistan plans for upcoming international fixtures.

Whether this marks a long-term farewell or a temporary break, Yousuf’s exit represents the loss of one of the most technically sound voices in Pakistan’s cricketing circles.
