In a sharp escalation of hostilities, Iran has launched a large-scale missile and drone attack on Israel, setting off air raid sirens in major cities including Tel Aviv and Haifa. The strikes mark the ninth such assault in recent weeks, as Iran continues its retaliation campaign in response to what it calls “Zionist crimes.”
According to Iranian state media and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the latest barrage is part of an ongoing military operation aimed at avenging civilian deaths caused by recent Israeli actions. “The attacks will continue until morning,” the IRGC warned in a statement, signaling the possibility of prolonged conflict.

As missiles and drones rained down, Israeli authorities activated emergency protocols, urging citizens to take shelter. Air defense systems were deployed to intercept the incoming threats. However, damage was reported in several areas, including Haifa, where critical infrastructure was hit.
One of the most significant incidents occurred at the Bazan Group’s refinery in Haifa Bay. The company confirmed that a power station used to produce steam and electricity was heavily damaged, forcing a shutdown of operations. Three employees lost their lives in the attack, according to an official regulatory filing.
Meanwhile, Iran reported further casualties on its side. Three Iranian Red Crescent workers were killed during Israeli strikes in Tehran while engaged in rescue operations, highlighting the widening human toll of the cross-border conflict.
