Pierce Brosnan Backs Tom Hardy as Potential James Bond He Would Be Wonderful

Veteran actor and former James Bond, Pierce Brosnan, has voiced his support for Tom Hardy as a fitting successor to the iconic 007 role. In a recent interview, Brosnan, who portrayed the suave British spy in four films from GoldenEye (1995) to Die Another Day (2002), said Hardy would make a “wonderful” Bond.

The Irish actor, currently co-starring with Hardy in MobLand, stopped short of making a personal pick for the next Bond, choosing instead to leave the decision to the franchise’s producers. “There are so many great actors out there who could portray this character,” he added. “I have no idea who, I have no idea. I wish whoever it is great success.”

Brosnan’s comments come as speculation continues to swirl around who will take over the role following Daniel Craig’s departure after No Time To Die (2021). Craig’s five-film run marked one of the most critically acclaimed eras of the franchise.

Alongside Tom Hardy, other actors frequently mentioned in casting rumors include Idris Elba, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Theo James, Jonathan Bailey, and Regé-Jean Page — all seen as strong contenders to carry the Bond legacy forward.
