The Lahore High Court has ordered the immediate de-sealing of vape shops across Punjab, offering interim relief to shopkeepers affected by the government’s recent crackdown.
Justice Anwar Hussain issued the ruling after hearing a petition filed by 74 dealers, including the popular Vape Mall chain. The court found no valid legal basis for the shop closures, criticizing the Punjab government for failing to follow proper procedures.

The court has barred the provincial administration from taking further action against vape retailers until a final verdict is issued, with the next hearing scheduled for July 3. The Punjab chief secretary, home secretary, and Lahore’s CCPO have been asked to submit their formal replies.
Petitioners argued that their businesses were registered, operated legally, and paid all taxes, yet were suddenly shut down without prior notice, resulting in major financial losses. The ban was initially ordered by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz as a public health measure to curb vape use among youth.
