In a positive shift for international mobility, Pakistani citizens can now travel to 32 countries either visa-free or with visa-on-arrival, following an improved global ranking of the Pakistani passport. As per the latest data by Henley & Partners, Pakistan’s passport has risen to the 100th spot globally, up from 113th in 2021.
This upward trend is attributed to Pakistan’s proactive diplomatic efforts and strengthening ties with international partners. A key milestone came recently when Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed an agreement allowing visa-free travel for holders of diplomatic and official passports from both nations.

The agreement was formalized during the 12th session of the Pakistan-UAE Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC), where both sides also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on mutual visa exemption. The initiative aims to remove pre-travel formalities for official travelers, paving the way for smoother high-level exchanges.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced the agreement via a post on X, calling it an important step toward deeper institutional cooperation and stronger fraternal ties with the UAE. The move underscores the evolving nature of Pakistan’s foreign policy and its increasing global engagement.
