Despite facing political backlash in India, Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh is celebrating the success of his latest film Sardaar Ji 3, which has earned Rs11.03 crore globally within just 48 hours of release. The film, featuring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in a lead role, skipped Indian cinemas amid heightened cross-border tensions but is performing strongly overseas—particularly in Pakistan.
Released internationally on June 27, 2025, the supernatural Punjabi comedy opened with Rs4.32 crore on its first day and Rs6.71 crore on its second. Pakistan emerged as the film’s top market, with a record-breaking opening day gross of Rs4.5 crore—surpassing the previous record held by Salman Khan’s Sultan.

While nationalist voices in India have criticized the inclusion of Hania Aamir and called for Diljit’s removal from future Bollywood projects, the singer-actor appears unfazed. The video, which began with Hania Aamir’s entrance scene, emphasized the film’s popularity in Pakistan with 12 daily shows on the country’s biggest screens. Diljit’s move to share the clip on Instagram is being viewed by many as a quiet but defiant response to the ongoing controversy.
