Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah has publicly supported Diljit Dosanjh, who is under fire for starring alongside Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3. The film’s release triggered backlash from extremist groups and some Indian film bodies, sparking calls to ban Diljit from future projects.
Shah dismissed the outrage as politically motivated, stating that Diljit had no role in the film’s casting. Taking to social media, he wrote, “I STAND FIRMLY WITH DILJIT,” calling the criticism a smear campaign by the “dirty tricks deptt of Jumla Party.”

He added that Diljit’s global fame and open mindset made him immune to hate politics. “What these goons want is to stop personal interaction between the people of India and Pakistan. I have dear friends and family there, and no one can stop me from loving them,” Shah stated.
Taking a direct jab at those telling artists to “Go to Pakistan,” Shah clapped back with, “My response to those who say that is — Go to Kailasa.” His remarks have since gone viral, winning praise for standing up for peace and artistic freedom.
