Officials from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) confirmed seismic activity but said the exact magnitude and epicentre would be disclosed after a full assessment is completed.
Seismologists attribute such events to tectonic movements beneath the Earth’s crust, noting Pakistan’s vulnerability due to its position near the Indian and Eurasian plate boundary. While no emergency measures were necessary, local rescue teams remain on alert.
