Paris, July 2, 2025 : Fashion designer Vera Wang revealed a significant change in hair color following her 76th birthday. On July 1, during her time in Paris, Wang appeared with a new hairstyle, replacing her characteristic dark brown hair with a lighter blonde tone.
The new color is a warm golden blonde with visible darker roots, aligning with the current “old money blonde” trend seen on public figures such as Margot Robbie and Sofia Richie. Wang retained her middle-parted, sleek hairstyle, maintaining consistency in her overall look.
Previously known for hair experimentation, Wang wore a platinum blonde wig at the 2025 BAFTAs nominees party earlier this year. Her current choice, however, appears more natural and reflective of the ongoing “quiet luxury” aesthetic prevalent in summer fashion trends.
For her appearance, Wang selected a black outfit consisting of a Rick Owens floor-length skirt with sculptural ruffle details on the sides. She paired this with a minimalist black crop top featuring thin tie details, partially revealing her midriff. Black ankle boots with heels completed the ensemble.
On the day prior, Wang wore a different look influenced by Sex and the City. She appeared in a low-rise black skirt secured with a black leather belt featuring silver chain embellishments. The belt sat above a bare waist, referencing a style previously associated with the character Carrie Bradshaw.
Accessories included a black headband, oversized sunglasses, and a compact black handbag. Wang was photographed outside the Prada store on Avenue Montaigne and posted updates from Paris on Instagram.
At age 76, Vera Wang continues to combine traditional fashion with bold stylistic updates, reinforcing the narrative that age does not constrain personal style.
