On July 7, veteran Bollywood stars Dharmendra and Saira Banu paid heartfelt tributes to legendary actor Dilip Kumar on his fourth death anniversary. The late actor, often referred to as the “Tragedy King” of Indian cinema, passed away in 2021 at the age of 98 after a long illness.
Dharmendra took to Instagram to express his emotions. He shared a black-and-white photo where he was seen holding Dilip Kumar’s hand. In the caption, he wrote about the pain of losing someone so close, calling it a “sad and unlucky day.” He described Dilip Kumar as a beloved brother, a great human being, and a godlike figure in the film industry.
Dharmendra said that the loss was unbearable but he finds peace in thinking that Dilip Kumar is still near. The emotional note reflected the deep bond they shared over decades of friendship and work in the film world.
Saira Banu, the wife of the late actor, also remembered him with a touching tribute. In her message, she called him an “inspiration for six generations” and the guiding light for future actors. Saira said that she continues to feel his presence every day. She mentioned that even in his absence, her soul walks beside him.
She described Dilip Kumar not just as an icon but also as a warm, witty, and gentle person. She shared a personal memory of him quietly stepping away from a musical evening to find rest, turning ordinary moments into lasting memories.
Saira concluded her message with prayers for her late husband, asking Allah to keep him in His mercy and light. She described his love as eternal—something that remains even beyond life.
