A shocking incident has surfaced at the Sahiwal Coal-Fired Power Plant, where a daily-wage cook has accused two security personnel of gang rape and blackmail. The case was registered at Yousafwala Police Station after the victim formally lodged a complaint.
According to police officials, the cook named the plantโs security focal person and his cousin as the main accused. An FIR has been filed against both suspects under charges of rape and blackmail. The police have begun investigations but have not made any arrests yet.
The victim, a resident of Mohalla Noor Park in Sahiwal, has been working at the power plant for three years. In his statement, he explained that he first met the accused at the plantโs entrance gate.
About a year ago, they invited him to their residence at Chak 61/5-L under the pretense of friendship. Once there, he alleged, they raped him and secretly recorded the act on a mobile phone.
The complainant further revealed that the accused used this video to threaten and exploit him repeatedly. He claimed they warned him that the footage would be leaked to the plantโs management, potentially leading to the loss of his job. The victim stated that the latest assault took place on July 19, 2025.
Authorities have assured that the investigation is ongoing and evidence is being collected. However, the delay in arrests has raised concerns among locals, who are demanding swift action against the suspects.
This disturbing case has once again brought attention to workplace exploitation and abuse, with calls for stronger protection mechanisms for vulnerable workers in industrial areas like Sahiwal.
