Pakistan has strongly condemned the recent Israeli airstrikes on Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, Gaza, which left at least 21 people dead. Among the victims were four journalists and a rescue worker, according to reports from local sources.
In a statement on Wednesday, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan described the assault as an “unconscionable and heinous attack” on a medical facility. He said the repeated Israeli airstrikes targeting civilians and journalists represent a serious violation of international human rights and humanitarian laws, as well as press freedom.
The spokesperson urged the global community to take decisive steps. “We reiterate our call on the international community to hold Israel accountable for such heinous crimes and to take concrete steps towards ending Israel’s impunity,” Khan said.
The Foreign Office also expressed deep concern over Israeli military actions beyond Gaza. It strongly condemned the incursion into the Syrian Arab Republic, terming it a direct violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.
“Pakistan expresses its full support for the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Syria, and calls on the international community to prevent Israel from undermining the peace and stability of the entire region,” Khan added.
The deadly Israeli airstrikes in Gaza come amid heightened violence that has drawn criticism from multiple countries and international organizations. Hospitals, journalists, and rescue workers continue to face extreme risks in the conflict zone.
Pakistan has consistently voiced its opposition to civilian targeting and has called for an immediate ceasefire. Officials stress that the ongoing strikes not only threaten innocent lives but also pose a grave risk to regional stability and peace efforts.
