ISLAMABAD โ Aleema Khan has rejected recent social media claims suggesting a meeting between a former army chief and Imran Khan in jail.
She said the reports are completely false and have no factual basis. The statement was shared by Aleema Khan on the social media platform X.
She clarified that she also verified the information with PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan. He reportedly confirmed that the claims were โtotally fakeโ.
Aleema Khan described the circulating reports as misinformation. She said such claims are being spread to divert attention from Imran Khanโs current situation in prison.
She further stated that Imran Khan is facing restrictions in Adiala Jail. According to her, he is not receiving proper medical care for his eye condition.
She also claimed that the PTI founder is not allowed to communicate with his sons. In addition, she alleged that access to books and television has been restricted.
Aleema Khan said Imran Khan has had very limited contact with the outside world over the past six months. She mentioned only two court-ordered meetings with his lawyer during this period.
She added that a court order allows multiple weekly visits. These include meetings with family members, lawyers, and party representatives on scheduled days.
According to her, these rights are protected under both national and international law. She stressed that the rules must be followed without exceptions.
The statement comes amid ongoing online speculation about a reported meeting inside Adiala Jail. The claims suggested involvement of a former military official, which has not been confirmed.
Imran Khan has been incarcerated since August 2023 in multiple legal cases. These include a 14-year sentence in the ยฃ190 million case and a 17-year sentence in the Toshakhana-2 case.
Aleema Khan has previously raised concerns about his prison conditions and access to legal and medical facilities.
Separately, Imran Khanโs family has also alleged communication restrictions with his children living in London. They have claimed delays in visa processing for visits.
Meanwhile, PTI continues to organize gatherings outside Adiala Jail on court-approved meeting days. However, party members say these events have faced disruptions in recent months.
