Pakistan Combat Night, also known as the Battle of Truth, turned into a landmark moment for MMA in the country. Eight athletes secured their spots for the upcoming World MMA Championship in Georgia, while five others earned places in the Road to BRAVE 100 and the World Championship in Bahrain.

The event was organized by the Pakistan Mixed Martial Arts Federation (PAKMMAF) with support from the Punjab government. A packed audience cheered throughout the evening, creating an electric environment similar to major cricket matches.

Islamabad fighters dominated the Pakistan Open MMA Championship. Abdul Manan, Moiz Satti, Siddiq Ullah, Ayan Hussain, Shahab Ali, and Sajid Katoshi all won their bouts to qualify for the IMMAF World Championship in Georgia.

The Road to BRAVE 100 card offered fans several thrilling clashes. Aqib Awan defeated Egypt’s Al-Hassan Muhammad in the flyweight division. Babar Ali overcame Azerbaijan’s Shirkhan Valili in bantamweight.

Zia Mashwani secured victory over Iran’s Saman Moradmand. In the headline fight, Rizwan Ali beat Egypt’s Adham Muhammad convincingly. Women’s MMA also had a breakthrough when Eman Khan knocked out Tunisia’s Maha in the first round.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, though abroad in Japan, followed the event’s progress. Punjab Sports Minister Faisal Khokhar praised MMA for putting Punjab on the map as a sporting hub.

The event was broadcast widely on ARY Sports, PTV Sports, and digital platforms. International outlets, including BBC Urdu, Arab News, and The Independent UK, also covered the spectacle.

Visiting athletes from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Iran, Egypt, and Morocco commended Pakistan’s organization and hospitality.

PAKMMAF President Omar Ahmed said MMA is more than a sport, describing it as a platform to build discipline, resilience, and national pride among youth.

He noted ongoing collaborations with Pakistan’s Special Forces and the Higher Education Commission to include MMA in military and university training programs.

Omar Ahmed and fighter Rizwan Ali were recently honored with the Pride of Pakistan award by ISPR for their contributions. This recognition highlights Pakistan’s rising status in international combat sports.

With thrilling contests, full stands, and global recognition, Pakistan Combat Night has established MMA as one of the fastest-growing sports in the country.
