Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) Haroon Akhtar Khan met with the CEO of Chinese tech firm HYF on Monday. The discussion focused on setting up a laptop and tablet manufacturing industry in Pakistan.
Chinese tech firm HYF specializes in laptops, tablets, and fingerprint devices. During the meeting, SAPM Haroon Akhtar Khan said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed full facilitation for Chinese investors. He assured that investments by Chinese companies in Pakistan will remain fully secure.
The meeting also highlighted the upcoming Mobile Device Policy, which will cover laptops, tablets, and related devices. SAPM Haroon Akhtar Khan stressed that the policy aims to create a friendly investment environment for tech companies like HYF.
Investor facilitation measures were also discussed. The visa process for Chinese investors has been streamlined, allowing visit and business visas to be issued within 24 to 72 hours. This step is expected to encourage faster project implementation.
SAPM Haroon Akhtar Khan instructed the Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC) and the Engineering Development Board (EDB) to provide full support to Chinese tech firm HYF. The goal is to ensure smooth establishment of manufacturing operations in Pakistan.
The initiative is part of Pakistan’s broader plan to promote technology investment and boost local manufacturing. Officials believe that collaborations with companies like HYF will strengthen Pakistan’s technology sector and create job opportunities.
By facilitating Chinese tech firm HYF, Pakistan aims to become a regional hub for laptops, tablets, and digital devices. The government is committed to removing hurdles and ensuring a secure, investor-friendly environment.
The meeting concluded with both sides expressing optimism about the project. Pakistani officials emphasized their commitment to supporting HYF and other foreign investors in establishing high-tech manufacturing in the country.
