Bollywood choreographer and filmmaker Farah Khan has responded to recent rumors about a fallout with actress Deepika Padukone. Fans noticed that the two celebrities do not follow each other on Instagram, sparking speculation about strained relations.
The rumors intensified after Farah, in one of her vlogs, jokingly commented about Deepika’s reported demand for an 8-hour working shift. Many interpreted this as a subtle criticism of the actress.
Speaking to Pinkvilla, Farah clarified that there is no fallout between them. She revealed, “To begin with, we were not following each other earlier too! We had made a pact during the Happy New Year shoot that we wouldn’t communicate on Instagram; instead, direct messages and calls were preferred.” She also added that birthday wishes and other interactions are not done on social media because Deepika does not prefer them.
Farah explained her 8-hour workday comment was just a joke directed at her cook Dilip, and not at Deepika. She further highlighted that many personal moments, like visiting Deepika when her daughter Dua was born, happen off social media.
The director emphasized the harm caused by creating fake controversies. “Last week, it was said that Karan and I ignored Aayush on the red carpet, when we had actually met him earlier. Such rumors can cause real problems, which is why I call people before things escalate,” Farah said.
Farah Khan and Deepika Padukone have shared a long-standing bond since the actress’s debut in Om Shanti Om (2007), directed by Farah. Over the years, they have maintained a professional and friendly relationship, making the recent rumors appear unfounded.
