Ace Frehley played a key role in shaping the sound and image of Kiss, one of the most influential rock bands in history. The group rose to fame in the 1970s with their energetic performances, distinctive makeup, and theatrical stage shows. Known for their black-and-white face paint and leather outfits, Kiss became icons of glam and hard rock β and a major influence on heavy metal.

His 1978 solo hit βNew York Grooveβ remains one of his most celebrated songs.
Born Paul Daniel Frehley in the Bronx, New York, on April 27, 1951, he was inspired to pursue music after watching The Who and Cream perform live.
