Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza Pays Farewell Visit to Naval Headquarters

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza paid a farewell visit to the Naval Headquarters in Islamabad as he nears the completion of his tenure.

The visit marked an important moment in the ongoing tradition of inter-services cooperation and highlighted the strong working relationship among Pakistan’s armed forces.

During his meeting with Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza appreciated the Pakistan Navy’s operational preparedness.

He noted that the Navy continues to demonstrate professionalism, discipline, and commitment while safeguarding the country’s maritime interests. He also acknowledged the Navy’s efforts in ensuring security in regional waters and its role in international maritime initiatives.

Admiral Naveed Ashraf, on behalf of the Pakistan Navy, expressed gratitude to the outgoing Chairman for his contributions during his service. The Admiral said that General Sahir Shamshad Mirza played a key role in strengthening coordination among the three armed forces.

He highlighted that the Chairman’s leadership helped enhance joint operations, strategic planning, and overall harmony within the military structure.

The Naval Chief further noted that the Chairman’s guidance contributed to improving inter-services communication and operational synergy. These efforts, he added, were crucial for addressing evolving security challenges and maintaining unity among the forces.

Earlier in the day, General Mirza was welcomed at the Naval Headquarters with a ceremonial guard of honour. A smartly turned-out contingent presented the guard, symbolizing respect for his long and distinguished military service. Senior naval officers were also present to receive him during the formal reception.

The farewell visit reflects the military’s tradition of honouring officers completing high-level assignments.
