A Qatari man is awarded a gold medal in Geneva for developing the first smart prayer rug.

The prayer rug, designed by Qatari engineer “Abdulrahman Saleh Khamis,” has a tiny screen with lights and built-in speakers that displays directions for more than 25 prayers.

A Qatari engineer has received a gold prize at the 48th International Exhibition of Invention in Geneva for developing Sajadah, the first intelligent prayer mat in the world.

The Sajadah is a smart rug with a tiny screen with light and a speaker system that offers simple directions for over 25 Muslim prayers in both English and Arabic while still having the same appearance as a traditional rug.

Sajdah, the first smart educational prayer rug in the world, educates new Muslims how to pray correctly and worry-free.

Muslims may enhance their prayer experience by reading the Qur’an during Taraweeh, Qyam, and other prayers through Sajdah’s LED screen, according to Khamis, who described the smart prayer mat in a Twitter post.

In addition to this tweet, Khamis also shared a promotional video, in which he fully explained his award-winning invention and demonstrated how the “Sajadah” can be operated via a smartphone application, making it a useful tool for non-Muslims. New Muslim converts frequently struggle while attempting to memorize and recite various salah patterns and ayahs during their prayers, but a tool like “Sajadah” may greatly simplify things for them.

It’s quite uncommon for someone to use technology for the benefit of our faith, but it’s past time more people followed in the footsteps of individuals like Khamis and produced goods that benefited their communities.
