Babar Azam Reaches 1,000 T20 Runs Milestone in 2024

In a crucial match between Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans at the National Stadium Karachi, former captain of the national cricket team, Babar Azam, achieved a significant milestone by completing 1,000 T20 runs in the year 2024.

Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and elected to bat first. However, their innings got off to a shaky start as David Willey dismissed Saim Ayub early in the first over. Despite this setback, Babar Azam looked composed and played some excellent strokes, reaching 51 runs in the powerplay. Mohammad Haris also showed confidence with the bat but was eventually dismissed for 22 runs.

To further build pressure on Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans’ captain introduced spinner Osama Mir into the attack after Iftikhar Ahmed. Mir proved effective, taking the crucial wicket of Haseeb Khan.

Babar Azam continued to anchor the innings and reached a score of 38, completing 1,000 runs in T20 cricket for the year. However, his innings was cut short at 46 runs when he was bowled by Chris Jordan. Despite his dismissal, Babar Azam had accumulated a total of 544 runs in the current season.

In the end, Multan Sultans comfortably chased down the target set by Peshawar Zalmi, securing a seven-wicket victory and booking their place in yet another final of the PSL.
