Asim Munir Meets Business Leaders to Discuss Pakistan's Economic Outlook

RAWALPINDI: A delegation of key business leaders recently met with Field Marshal Asim Munir to discuss Pakistan’s economic situation and potential reforms. The delegation, led by former caretaker federal minister Gohar Ejaz, included prominent figures such as APTMA Chairman Kamran Arshad and SM Tanvir, as well as the presidents of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).

The primary focus of the meeting was to review the current state of the national economy. Gohar Ejaz, speaking on behalf of the delegation, emphasized that economic stability was gradually returning to Pakistan. He noted that the business community fully supported the government’s policies and was optimistic about the future. However, Ejaz also pointed out that further steps were needed to improve the business environment.

One of the key points raised by Ejaz was the need for reducing interest rates in line with inflation. This, he argued, would help businesses thrive and stimulate economic growth. Additionally, Ejaz urged the government to address concerns regarding the recent federal budget, which had been a point of contention among the business community.

Ejaz also called for an export-led economic model, stressing the importance of protecting domestic cotton and supporting local farmers. He urged the government to fulfill the commitments made in the latest budget to boost the agricultural sector and overall economic growth.

Field Marshal Asim Munir’s involvement in economic discussions has been consistent. He has repeatedly voiced his support for economic progress and national development. In a recent visit to the United States, Munir acknowledged the crucial role of overseas Pakistanis in driving the country’s economy through remittances and investments.

Earlier, during a meeting with Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC) CEO Bilal Bin Saqib, Field Marshal Munir discussed Pakistan’s digital economy. The discussion centered on empowering the youth with emerging technologies such as blockchain, cryptocurrency, and artificial intelligence to foster economic resilience.

Field Marshal Asim Munir’s ongoing support for the country’s economic growth highlights his belief in the importance of collective efforts from all sectors. He remains confident that Pakistan will overcome its challenges and achieve long-term progress.

This meeting between business leaders and Asim Munir underscores a growing commitment to economic reforms and development, with a focus on fostering a conducive environment for business growth and innovation.
