Gold and silver prices recorded a significant increase across Pakistan on Thursday. The latest rise pushed the price of 24-karat gold to Rs435,636 per tola. According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, gold prices increased by Rs9,600 per tola. The new rate reflects a sharp rise in the local precious metals market.

The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also went up. It increased by Rs8,230 to reach Rs373,487. Meanwhile, 10 grams of 22-karat gold rose by Rs7,544 to Rs342,375. Silver prices also moved higher in the local market. The rate of silver increased by Rs100 per tola to Rs5,763. Similarly, 10 grams of silver became more expensive by Rs85. Its new price reached Rs4,940. The international silver market also recorded an increase. Silver gained $1 per ounce to reach $52.85. The rise in global rates contributed to the increase in domestic prices.

The association said local gold rates were calculated using the interbank exchange rate. This means international prices and currency movements influence the rates announced in Pakistan.

The latest increase comes as buyers and investors continue to monitor changes in precious metal prices. Gold is commonly considered a store of value during periods of economic uncertainty. However, sudden price movements can affect purchasing decisions.
