Caretaker PM Relocates as New Premier Election Looms in Islamabad

In Islamabad, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has left the Prime Minister House and relocated to the Ministers’ Enclave in the federal capital. He has been allocated bungalow number 15 in the enclave.

The elections for the new prime minister are slated to take place today (Sunday). Once sworn in, the new premier will then move to the PM House.

PML-N’s Shehbaz Sharif, the coalition candidate for the prime minister’s office, and PTI’s nominee, Omar Ayub, submitted their nomination papers on Saturday.

For Shehbaz’s nomination, leaders of coalition parties including Khawaja Asif, Khurshid Shah, Attaullah Tarar, and Tariq Bashir Cheema were present. Meanwhile, for the PTI, party leaders Asad Qaiser, Aamir Dogar, Ali Muhammad, and Barrister Gohar Khan attended the submission of Ayub’s nomination papers.
