Caretakers Cut Petrol Price by Rs. 8 After Multiple Hikes

The caretaker government has announced a slight reduction in the prices of petroleum products after three consecutive significant hikes.

According to a notification from the Finance Division, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs. 8 per liter, and the price of high-speed diesel has seen a decrease of Rs. 11. The new price of petrol is Rs. 323.38 per liter, while the new price of high-speed diesel is Rs. 318.18 per liter.

The Finance Division stated that the price reduction is attributed to improvements in the exchange rate.

In the previous fortnightly reviews, the interim government had increased the price of petrol by Rs. 26.02 per liter and high-speed diesel by Rs. 17.34 per liter. This reduction comes after a series of price increases in recent weeks.
