Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo could be eyeing another significant transfer, hinting that his time at the Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr might not mark the end of his illustrious career. After departing Manchester United amidst controversy, Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, joined the Saudi Pro League last year, according to The Mirror.
Ronaldo’s move to Al Nassr came after a contentious interview with Piers Morgan, where he criticized various aspects of Manchester United, leading to the termination of his contract by mutual consent. Despite signing a lucrative deal with the Saudi side, it seems that Ronaldo envisions concluding his career elsewhere.

Upon arriving in the Middle East, Ronaldo expressed that he considered his time in Europe “over” and expressed a desire to conquer another continent, stating, “I am fortunate that I have won everything I set out to win in European football. I feel now that this is the right moment to share my experience in Asia.”
However, Rudi Garcia, Al Nassr’s manager at Ronaldo’s signing, suggested otherwise. Garcia, removed from his position four months later, insisted that the five-time Champions League winner would return to play for a European side. In January of the previous year, Garcia stated, “Cristiano Ronaldo is a positive addition… He will not finish his career at Al-Nassr; he will return to Europe.”
Despite his tenure in Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo remains a prolific goal-scorer, ending 2023 as the top goal-scorer at club level worldwide with 54 goals in 59 Al-Nassr games. Responding to those who think his career is winding down, Ronaldo took to Instagram, saying, “54 — I’ll say when it’s finished! Thanks, team.”
Recent reports suggest interest from a Premier League side, with Newcastle United considering a bid to bring Ronaldo back to the English top flight. Notably, both Al-Nassr and Newcastle United share the same owners in the Public Investment Fund (PIF). The potential move adds an intriguing chapter to Ronaldo’s storied career.
