I am Dr. Amna Mukhtar, a proud graduate of the 83rd batch from King Edward Medical College. With 70 years of age and several years of service as a gynecologist at Poly Clinic, my life has been filled with contentment and happiness. However, a tragic incident occurred four years into my marriage, when my beloved husband passed away in a road accident. At that time, I had a young son who was suffering from a medical condition that could not be treated in Pakistan. Determined to provide him with the best care, I took him to America while continuing my medical practice. Additionally, I dedicated myself to his education, guiding him to become a doctor.

Once my son achieved his dream of becoming a doctor, we both decided to return to Pakistan with the aim of contributing to the betterment of our people. Engaging with various NGOs, our goal was to help those in need. Unfortunately, fate dealt me another blow when my son was involved in a fatal accident, leaving me alone and without any immediate family. Seeking solace and support, I turned to my brothers, and despite the profound loss, I continued my charitable work. While I am unable to discuss my family matters in detail, I firmly believe that Allah knows all and may He conceal everyone’s deeds.
When I was 67 years old, I suffered a fall while getting into my car, resulting in a fractured hip bone. Since that incident, I have been confined to a bed and have been residing in an old home for the past three years. Though the living conditions are challenging, I am grateful for the care and support provided by the old home. Although the funds and donations made in our names do not directly reach us, I refrain from highlighting the dire circumstances here, as the old home has taken on the responsibility of caring for me. Despite my limitations, I am still able to perform tasks such as changing my diapers while sitting, and even preparing allopathic medicines for patients who seek assistance here.
However, I pray that Allah spares anyone from the hardships of relying on others. During my stay at the old home, my son Talha and my dear daughter Fatima visit me whenever they can, showing genuine care and concern. However, they are young individuals occupied with their studies and college commitments. Through them, I had the pleasure of meeting Anila Naseeb and Major Naseeb, who have become like family to me. They took me to CMH (Combined Military Hospital), where skilled doctors conducted a check-up, providing me with hope that I may regain the ability to walk. I am determined to fulfill my dreams and continue helping others in whatever humble capacity I can.
Anila and Major Naseeb have assured me that my operation will commence soon, and they plan to relocate me from the old home, where it has been three months without a shower, subjecting me to unbearable and unsanitary conditions. Placing my trust in Allah, I firmly believe that He will heal me and grant me the gift of walking once again. It is with utmost humility that I kindly request everyone’s assistance in funding my operation, which is estimated to cost 8 lakhs. I humbly ask for your support in helping me realize my dream of standing on my own feet once more.
May Allah bless you and grant you the strength to overcome these challenges.
