PESHAWAR: The Workers Welfare Board Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has suspended 15 principals of Working Folks Grammar and Higher Secondary Schools across the province. The decision was taken after poor academic performance in the recent matriculation examinations.
According to an official notification, the suspended principals belonged to schools in Akora Khattak, Amaan Garh, Ghoriwala, Haripur-II, Hattar, Karak, Kohat-I, Kohat-II, Peshawar-II, Mardan, Shehbaz Azmat Khel, Swabi, and Swat. The list also included the principal of Working Folks Grammar School Takhte Bhai along with other branches.
To ensure academic activities continue smoothly, the board has temporarily handed over the responsibilities of the suspended principals to vice principals and senior teachers. This step aims to avoid any disruption in day-to-day teaching and school management.
Officials noted that the action comes amid increasing concerns over the falling standards of education in public sector institutions. The board stressed that accountability measures are necessary to improve the quality of learning and ensure better outcomes in future examinations.
By suspending the underperforming principals, the Workers Welfare Board has signaled its determination to strengthen oversight in its schools. Authorities believe this move will not only improve efficiency but also serve as a warning to other school heads to maintain higher academic standards.
Education experts say the decision could help improve discipline and performance if followed by long-term reforms in teaching methods and evaluation. The suspended principals will remain under review until further orders are issued by the board.
