Independent candidate Rana Afzal withdrew from NA-149 in support of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP)

Independent candidate Rana Afzal made a strategic decision on Sunday by withdrawing from the electoral race in NA-149, throwing his support behind Jahangir Khan Tareen, the patron-in-chief of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP). This move followed Afzal’s earlier withdrawal from PP-216, where he endorsed the joint candidate of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and IPP, Syed Babar Shah.

Jahangir Tareen, emphasizing the pivotal role of the youth in shaping the country’s destiny, recently expressed his views during an event in Lodhran. Tareen highlighted his political pursuits, stating, “My sole purpose in politics is to serve the masses. There is a path to lead the country towards prosperity if the spirit of dedicated work is embraced.”

Acknowledging positive feedback from other political parties on their manifesto, Tareen outlined the IPP’s focus on farmers and agriculture, presenting an exceptional package for their upliftment. He called upon the public to support the IPP in the upcoming elections scheduled for February 8.

In his vision for Lodhran’s development, Tareen pledged to transform the city to an extent where the boundaries between Lodhran and Lahore would be indistinguishable. This strategic alignment and endorsement by Rana Afzal are indicative of evolving political dynamics in the region as candidates position themselves for the approaching electoral contest.
