Meanwhile, Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan criticized US actions. In a post on X, the envoy accused Washington of violating international law. He also said the United States was tightening blockades while claiming to pursue diplomacy.
The ambassador described this approach as a contradiction between words and actions. He warned that tensions could continue to rise if the naval blockade remains in place.
The latest dispute began when US forces intercepted a cargo vessel flying the Iranian flag. According to Donald Trump, the ship attempted to breach the blockade in the Strait of Hormuz. US personnel reportedly issued warnings to the vessel before taking further action.
When the warnings were ignored, American forces allegedly disabled the ship by damaging its engine room. The vessel was then brought to a stop and taken under control by US Marines.
Trump later wrote on his platform Truth Social that the vessel, identified as Tosca, was stopped in the Gulf of Oman. He also claimed the ship appears on a US Treasury sanctions list due to previous illegal activities. Officials are currently inspecting the cargo.
