PM Shehbaz Orders Acceleration of Rescue Efforts in Flood-Hit Areas

In response to devastating floods affecting several regions, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered the acceleration of rescue and relief operations in flood-hit areas. He emphasized the need for timely and effective assistance for those displaced by the disaster and called for improved coordination among authorities.

The Prime Minister’s directive comes as floodwaters continue to inundate parts of Punjab, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, causing widespread displacement and significant damage. Over 190,000 individuals have been relocated to safer areas, with ongoing efforts to provide food, medical aid, and shelter.

In addition to immediate relief measures, PM Shehbaz has called for the restoration of essential services, including electricity and communication networks, in the affected regions. He instructed authorities to prioritize repairing damaged infrastructure to facilitate rescue operations and ensure the safety of displaced populations.

The Prime Minister has also directed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to work in full coordination with provincial governments to intensify safety and relief efforts. He stressed the importance of alerting the public in advance about potential threats from rising water levels in vulnerable areas.

As the situation remains critical, PM Shehbaz urged all concerned institutions to continue working together to assist affected families, relocate them to safer places, and restore damaged infrastructure. He highlighted that federal and provincial governments must collaborate effectively to mitigate the impact of the floods.

The government’s swift response aims to alleviate the suffering of those affected and restore normalcy in the impacted regions. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and are prepared to implement additional measures as needed to address ongoing challenges.
