Humayun Saeed Reveals Lifelong Struggle with Shyness

Ever since his television comeback with *Gentleman* after a three-year hiatus, Humayun Saeed has found himself in high demand once more. In a quickfire interview with Nashpati Prime on their YouTube channel, the *Mere Paas Tum Ho* star opened up about his enduring marriage to his wife Samina, his acting career, and his thoughts on Bollywood fame and fortune.

Humayun, who has evolved from his early roles in *Ab Tum Le Saktay Ho* to a part in *The Crown*, revealed, “I used to be very shy. I still am, you know. I’m better now, but still shy.” Reflecting on his youth and the first girl who broke his heart, he shared, “She took me out of my shell. I taught her to drive. It was a completely different energy back then.”

On Love, Marriage, and Social Media

Now devoted to Samina, Humayun emphasized that she is the only woman in his life. Happily married for nearly thirty years, he joked, “It isn’t practical to have any adventures anymore – I’m too scared of my wife!”

Drawing from his own successful marriage, Humayun advised that praise and acceptance are key to any enduring relationship. “My worst fear is to upset or lose the people I love,” he admitted. “To maintain love, you need to praise who you are with, give them time, look after them, overlook their mistakes, and love them for all their faults.”

Despite his solid marriage, Humayun has not been immune to rumors of infidelity. “You hear all these baseless rumors about me being married to different actors, like Meera or Mishi Khan – none of them are true,” he cautioned. “I’m married to just one woman, and that is Samina!”

Humayun also touched on their unfulfilled desire for children. “I love all kids, but it hasn’t happened for us. It is Allah’s will,” he said.

Comfortable in his marriage, Humayun spoke candidly about life with Samina. “She never liked having her photo taken, but every now and then she’ll put up a selfie,” he mused. “I do think social media has taken over our lives, but it can also be great, giving validation when someone likes your picture.”

However, he warned about the impact of rumors on social media. “When I was younger, being the subject of a rumor or scandal never bothered me,” he noted. “But now I see that the lies spread on social media have a huge impact on your family. My family doesn’t deserve to be caught up in those lies!”

 The Showbiz World

Humayun is very conscious of his family’s well-being, but his passion for acting led him to pursue his career secretly at first. “I was working in a garment factory when people started responding to my first play. I couldn’t believe anyone would ever respond to me as an actor.”

Realizing his true calling, Humayun transitioned to acting full-time, though he initially aimed for film. He soon recognized the larger market for television dramas in Pakistan. “From the beginning, I wanted to be a producer, and acting roles opened up production opportunities for me.”

He acknowledged the help of Nadia Jamil, Sania Saeed, Mehreen Jabbar, and of course, his wife Samina, in the early stages of his career. “These women worked with me at the beginning and are the reason I am here today.”

Humayun ensures he is approachable to the new generation of actors. “I am friendly with all of my younger co-stars. It’s important to make them comfortable, be their friend, and look out for them.”

He also offered a perspective on newer actors becoming big-headed quickly. “We don’t have a system where you can audition or train actors. When a producer sees potential, they pounce, and those actors get a lot of calls. The workload is higher today than it was before, leading them to believe they are superstars. It’s okay.”

Despite being a superstar himself, Humayun has never been tempted by Bollywood. “To be honest, I’ve never had a big offer from there, but I’ve also never been interested. I want to keep my career in Pakistan.”

With his commanding presence on set and support for upcoming talent, it’s clear that Humayun Saeed is here to stay.
